Southside Animal Hospital Cronulla & Gymea are equipped for the following:

Consultations & Health Checks
Just as it is important for humans to have check ups, it is just as important for our furry family members! Health Checks are performed by the vet to keep your pet in good health. We generally recommend yearly checks for pets who are in considerably good health, and for geriatric patients, every 6 months is suggested.

Vaccinations, Worming & Tick Prevention
Dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets require annual vaccinations to keep their immunity strong and to protect them against potentially fatal diseases. For adult dogs and cats, worming is generally recommended every three months (depending on your product choice) and tick prevention is essential! Particularly in the Shire, due to the increased incidence of potentially fatal tick bites. Please, if you ever see your animal unable to move or appears to be paralysed, please call us immediately.

Micro-chipping
Microchips are an essential way of identifying lost dogs and are a compulsory part of animal ownership. Microchipping is usually organised at a very early age. Please also remember to update your home address contact information for your pets if you move house.

Tailored Nutritional Advice
Just like humans, animals have varying nutritional requirements. We can tailor a diet and recommend a food suitable for your pet depending on their health condition / health goals.

Weight Management
Certain medical conditions can lead to animals gaining weight, as can a lack of exercise and inappropriate feeding. At SSAH, we can help. Ask us for information on how to manage your pets weight.
